ASTRATTO METROPOLITANO

METROPOLITAN ABSTRACT

artworks

Made on cardboard or canvas, done in oil, watercolor or mixed media, these works are inspired by those parts of the city that are hardly found in tourist guides, but which - surprisingly - succeed in striking the imagination and suggesting creative performance: walls, manholes, gratings, gates, sidewalks, stairs ... A parallel city, ignored, a less noble point of view that we walk on, unaware every day, one that flows under our feet or occupies most of the sky above us, obstructing and annoying our city horizons.

It turns out instead, that many of these objects, antithetical to the world of nature as we love to imagine them, incompatible with the harmony of landscape-forms that we would never consider, can equally affect our sensitivity, be caught by the eye of our camera, elaborated with imagination, expressing inspiration and color also in the gray world of our

urban everyday life.

The drawings mainly come from a digital photo, often applying the style of the lomographic technique (saturated colored-images with the characteristic dark halo on the edges). Some photos are processed on the computer and later treated with color; others, instead are translated directly into drawings and worked with pictorial techniques chosen according to how the image suggests. Most of the time, the initial image, does not resemble the final one at all ... a painting is always a way to surprise, the colors sometimes indicate, sometimes deviate ... sometimes deceive ... it's a road that presents so many wonderful variables to make a certain trajectory almost impossible, and never is anything obvious or predictable.

Everything is transformed or can be transformed, everything can be or not be something else, everything can be transported into a visionary world. Everything can become ...
